Foolish Heart - Plot Outline

The film was shot in the cities of Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata between June and September 1997. It is the story of a Jewish young man living in a unfriendly educational atmosphere at the beginning of the 70s. It is about the breach with his family after confronting his father and about the discoveries of friends much older than him involved in the research of life after death by means of using a camera that could take pictures of the human aura. The first love. The wish for adventures, growing and running away with the woman he loves would leave him to a dramatic situation which ends in an unexpected way. The story is resumed 20 years later, when our main character, a well-known film director based in Los Angeles returns to Argentina because his father is dying. He had no contact with his father since he left. Our character meets some friends from his teenage years and finds out that his great love of those days -whom he believed to be dead-, is still alive.

This sets him off on a 48-hour search of his past. The impossibility of reuniting with what he is looking for leads him to meet another woman, somebody he does not know but with whom he has a strong sexual relationship, which adds to the film a dimension of mystery and seduction, with an unexpected ending.
